Award-Winning Motor Cars

A showcase of prestigious awards won by vehicles we have proudly restored, maintained, or supplied—reflecting the craftsmanship and care at the heart of RR&B Garages.

A Continental Classic with a Distinguished Legacy

This rare example of Continental coachwork was first entrusted to RR&B Garages in 1991 for a full ground-up restoration. Just a year later, it earned 2nd in Class at the 1992 RREC National Rally, marking the beginning of a remarkable awards journey.

We proudly maintained the car until 1999, when it was sold to a Dutch enthusiast. Since then, under his careful stewardship, the vehicle has gone on to achieve numerous prestigious accolades across Europe at RREC, BDC, and international events.

Notable honours include:

  • 2003 – RREC 1st in Class (Touring) and BDC 1st in Class

  • 2006 – BDC 1st in Class

  • 2007 – RREC 1st in Touring and Overall Prize in Touring

  • 2007 & 2008Best Continental Entry

  • 2008 – RREC 1st in Class

  • 2010 – RREC Master Class 2nd Place

  • 2011 – BDC 1st in Class

Beyond concours success, this remarkable car has travelled over 100,000 kilometres since its restoration, taking part in international rallies, including one as far afield as South Africa. There, it was proudly featured on the cover of the official Souvenir Programme, and it has since appeared in two leading Dutch classic car magazines.

Following his 2011 BDC Concours win, the owner shared a photo and a message that speaks volumes:

“You restored it… I maintained it, and see the result 20 years later… you must be proud too.”

We are—and we thank you.

A Trusted Companion Across Continents

This distinguished motor car first joined our client’s collection in 1992, purchased at just 32,000 miles while he was residing in South Wales. Originally finished in Walnut with a Beige Everflex roof, it has since undergone a remarkable transformation—both cosmetically and mechanically—under the continued care of RR&B Garages.

We have proudly maintained and restored this vehicle for over three decades. In that time, it has travelled close to 200,000 miles, a testament to both the car’s enduring engineering and the dedication of its owner. Our work has included comprehensive servicing, a full engine rebuild, suspension upgrades, and, in 2002, a complete coachwork restoration, during which the colour was beautifully changed to Black Sapphire.

In 2003, this remarkable car was awarded the RREC Touring Trophy, presented to the vehicle in the best condition that had covered the greatest distance over the year—an accolade well-earned by a car that truly lives its life on the road.

Its journeys have taken it across Europe, from the northern reaches of Sweden to the sun-soaked landscapes of Morocco. Even as our client relocated, from Switzerland to his current home in North Yorkshire, his loyalty to RR&B never wavered. Wherever life took him, the car always returned to us for expert care.

We are deeply grateful for his continued trust and support—and proud to have played a role in the life of such a well-travelled and much-loved motor car.

A Sterling History and a Distinguished Future

This remarkable motor car has been under the dedicated care of RR&B Garages since 1995, when the current owner acquired it. Since then, it has travelled over 80,000 miles, a testament to both its mechanical strength and the owner’s commitment to using and enjoying his vehicle to the fullest.

Originally delivered to Lieutenant General Sir William Stirling, brother of David Stirling, founder of the SAS, the car began its life in Dusk Grey with a Blue/Grey interior. After a period of ownership in the United States, where it resided for seven years, it was refinished in the elegant American hue of Cadillac Pale Persian Sand.

A comprehensive restoration was carried out by RR&B Garages over 1999–2000, with several innovative enhancements. This was the first Silver Cloud/S-series model for which we developed and fitted modern air conditioning, pioneering comfort in classic motoring.

Additional specialist modifications included:

  • Boxed-in front nearside wing with venting to prevent dirt ingress and corrosion

  • Boxed-in rear offside wing to protect the battery compartment

  • Suspension set to “Colonial” height, offering improved ground clearance and commanding road presence

  • Harvey Bailey anti-roll bars to both front and rear

  • Period-correct radial tyres for enhanced drivability

  • Hand-painted family crests on the rear doors

  • Interior re-trimmed in Pale Dove Grey with Wildberry piping and carpets

  • Waistline coachlines elegantly highlighted in Wildberry

The result was not only a beautifully restored motor car, but one that retained its usability, poise, and distinction on the road and the show field alike.

Accolades include:

  • 2000RREC Euro Rally (Finland): UK Trophy Winner

  • 2001RREC Annual Rally – Class 13: 1st Place, Concours & Elegance

  • 2007RREC Annual Rally – Class 13: 1st Place, Touring
(With a score exceeding that of the concours winner)

We are also proud to maintain our client’s award-winning 1980 Rolls-Royce Corniche FHC, and we extend our heartfelt thanks for his longstanding loyalty and continued support.

A Phantom III and the Passion Behind “The Forgotten Engine”

This magnificent Limousine de Ville by Mayfair Carriage Company Ltd. stands as a tribute not only to classic Rolls-Royce craftsmanship but also to the passion and perseverance of its owner.

Following the owner’s personal restoration of the Phantom III’s V12 engine, RR&B Garages were entrusted with the full restoration of the coachwork, returning the car to true concours condition. It was a privilege to be involved in the final stages of this restoration, and we were delighted to see the car awarded 1st in Class, Concours at the 2004 Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club National Rally.

During the engine restoration, owner Stephe Boddice encountered considerable difficulty in sourcing reliable technical information. In his search, a memorable moment occurred when he phoned Crewe to enquire about records for the Phantom III engine, only to be told that “Rolls-Royce never produced a V12 cylinder engine.” That moment of disbelief sparked a personal mission.

Determined to preserve and share knowledge, Stephe went on to author the now-celebrated book, “The Forgotten Engine”, an in-depth technical guide to the Phantom III’s unique V12 powerplant. His meticulous research has since become an essential resource for Phantom III owners and restorers worldwide.

We are proud to have contributed to the restoration of such a historically significant vehicle—and equally proud to support owners whose dedication helps preserve the legacy of these exceptional motor cars for generations to come.
